TOPIC: Truisms and Cliches
#64954
Truisms and Cliches 13 Years, 6 Months ago
After the dullest boxing match in living memory (I'm not a boxing fan) we heard more cliches per second from both men than anything since the last X Factor.
I'm beginning to think civilisation will fall due to truisms and cliches.
We'll all be bored to death.

I'm glad David Haye beat the ludicrous Fraudley Harrison, but Sky charging about £16 to people who wanted to watch it was shameless even by their wretched standards. They should have got John Lydon to appear at the end to ask them if they'd ever been had.

Anyone paying £16 for that deserved what they got!

Haye was 1/9 to win.

there is the beginnings of a sort of mass social phenomena beginning in sports mad Oz and I can see it spreading.

There has been such massive over-kill in sports that the masses are beginning to just turn off.

Cricket is the first to be hit..much smaller crowds and Rugby looks like it will be next.

All these things are crammed down our throats ad finitum..there is only so much that can be said about sport...truisms and cliches and the media endlessly re-hashing
