I am firmly of the opinion that this is a smokescreen. The tabloids have something else rather more career-ruining on him and he has agreed to fall on his sword over something more trivial in return for the real story being spiked.

I suspect that the female fan was 12 not 22 probably - and yet lied on her Facebook profile. In all likelihood in fact "she" was a CEOP POLICEMAN age 45 who gets sexual kicks by pretending to be a 12 year old schoolgirl talking about sex to dirty old and young men.......

Has to be - seems par for the course these days - the POLICE are either handing out beatings or rapes on vulnerable women or sitting by their PCs talking about sex and pretending to be someone else.......Weirdos must apply to join the Police - Dixon of Dock Green would be turning in his Police Box if we could see the modern day bobbies on the jobby !

That's a plausible theory, but he seems a nice enough bloke who maybe really is just naive. In an adult world the media would tell these silly trollops to shut up and go away or face articles about what bitter people they are, but hacks are as shameless as they are.
