Kenny Everett Returns for Christmas 13 Years, 5 Months ago
I'm all for reminding people of how great Kenny was, but this seems a bit dodgy:

Kenny Everett is to broadcast a new Radio 2 show from beyond the grave.

Producers have compiled archive clips and a selection of his jingles interspersed with tracks from the station’s current playlist to create Kenny Everett's Christmas Selection Box.

The Christmas Day broadcast will also feature comedy characters including Captain Kremmen and Rock Salmon Special Investigator as well as Everett's interviews with the Beatles.

Radio 2 will also air a documentary about Everett’s radio career on Christmas Eve, hosted by Paul Gambaccini.

So Kenny will basically be cueing up X-Factor singles and Take That? Bizarre.

It will still be worth listening....the man was a genius and his radio shows have not aged - even if the tracks have - so I can understand the idea behind the programme. The proof will be whether it makes good radio on the day.

there was a time when listening to Kenny in the mornings was the only way I could manage to get up and go to work. I thought he was wonderful.

never quite liked his TV career and went off him when he went into bat for Thatcher but he had a unique talent.

I'd love to hear Gambaccini's doco-sounds great.

I think all of us can understand the idea. It's not a problem from Heidegger. I just think inserting clips from Kenny in between today's chart hits is tacky. What next - editing recordings of Gilbert Harding so it sounds as though he's having a spat with Simon Cowell?

yeh that sounds like fun Ms Minge!

actually I will be quite fascinated to hear the Gambiccini piece on Kenny and see if the humour is dated.
What I thought was hilarious at 16 can be something else now I'm 39.

Paul is a lovely bloke as well.
