Stephen Mitchell found guilty 13 Years, 5 Months ago
As reported here and elsewhere www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/1...men-115875-22737094/

I don't buy this for a second. All these attacks in police stations covered in CCTV and no mention of any witnesses or footage? Allegations of him passing on heroin, but no supporting forensic evidence, nor any mention of where he might have procured it? The tape he made of his superior threatening to keep digging until something was found? Note also that he was found guilty of relatively few of the sex attack charges, indicating that evidence relating to other alleged attacks was unreliable or insufficient.

It looks like a classic trawling case, with no corroborating evidence at all, and a glaring lack of evidence that SHOULD exist if the allegations were true.

I think the poor bloke's been shafted.

this all sounds very dodgy :

"He had a hold over one woman for three and a half years, even trying to keep her on heroin after she had quit, which only ended when she went into hiding after he raped her in handcuffs at her home, it was alleged."

she allowed him to have a hold over her for that long ?????

as for being vunerable...so are coppers...vunerable like everyone to false allegations.

I agree. Shafted. That is why there is no public outcry about this.

Very strange case - when you seem so many allegations you realise unless he was doing this full time ( and if he was where were all the other police working - and why did they watch him on CCTV and do nothing ? ) he could not have done these things.

I think that because the jury found him not guilty of so many things it should have been dropped.

This is not cut and dried like the ASSAULT case or the TOMLINSON case which both have real evidence and eye witness reports and are clearly criminal acts which should have landed these people in jail - yet in both they have been "Let off"

The Police are now weeding out the "whistleblowers" from their own ranks - and I would bet this man is or has been a whistleblower and these allegations were MADE and PAID for by others in the Police who wanted to shut him up.

Very disturbing and I hope he appeals.
