Regarding the search for alien life!

"NASA's Kepler satellite has been looking deep into space and they might of found something spectacular. NASA said they will make the announcement on Thursday on the progress of Kepler.

NASA said on Monday that the announcement has to do with "intriguing planetary system" that Kepler discovered".

Whether or not they found another earth like planet that remains a mystery until Thursday, hopefully they found something big and interesting which will make it worth tuning into the teleconference".


Intriguing, no? Such an exciting piece of news is sure to get everyone going and have a profound impact on peoples' perceptions and understanding of the possibilities extraterrestrial life, and must surely herald a genuinely global news item of deep and lasting significance.
There's just one problem, and that's that line of red asterixes, where the following words appeared in the original text until I edited them out for dramatic purposes. The words are;

"The live teleconference will be held on Thursday, August 26 at 1pm EDT".

So much for big announcements.

They seem to be making a large number of announcements recently about "dark matter" and the "exanding universe" and about the quest for water on various planets and moons....

Some think it is because they are trying to justify their budget at a time of cuts....others to prepare the way for disclosure ....and others for a "false flag alien invasion"......

There is no doubt intelligent life out there....but 8c years of George Bush will no doubt have persuaded them to take their hols elsewhere.

Don't know where you got those quotes from, Locked Out, but I see nothing regarding Kepler on NASA's announcement of this press conference.

NASA has said that the press conference relates to astrobiology. For me, that rules out the possibility of another tedious announcement of an earth-like planet being discovered a gazillion miles away..

I suspect they will be talking about something much closer to home. Perhaps the discovery of microbes on one of Saturn's moons...?

Such a revelation would surely rank as one of the most profound scientific discoveries of all time.

According to Richard Dawkins, there is a possibility of life being found in arsenic compounds, which changes the rules of biology quite a little.
