some of the comments are so ignorant-the majority where unusually sensible.

One points out the obvious- the police thought he had possibly looked at ONE picture (and the police are not meant to investigate a crime on suspicion alone-they must have evidence)..then what about all the plods who viewed that picture to decide if it was indecent ??

What is scary is the utter ignorance of most people. Perhaps a child was abused last week, photos taken and posted and distributed. If so- a ghastly crime and the perpetuaters hunted down.

But what if the pics were 40 years old (highly possible as this stuff was rampant then and sold openly in Holland and Denmark). The person may even be dead or middle-aged and not giving a stuff.

It's like deciding the crime on the strength of hitting your child and being charged with assault (quite rightly) but because a child in another city is murdered -you are charged with all the recriminations of that crime.

In other words-all details have to be taken into account and isolated but they are not in the current media hysteria.

As for innocently viewing this material..I've had a hell of a week with both my home and work connections crashing due to infections of viruses-new ones that defeated my virus protection programs.

All my details were stolen including my 2 unlisted phone numbers...within one hour I received a plague of phone calls offering me expensive virus protection and so on. My bank account had an attempted access...I've had to cancel all my credit cards.

It's all in the madness of phony child "protection" which has reached such absurd levels that the man who ran CEOPS had 2 parents lauded as heroes after they abandoned their 3 tiny children in a rented flat with open doors in a Portugual so they could go wining and dining while at the same time defaming a decent Portuguese policeman.

These people do not give a frigging stuff about children-total hypocrits. If they did they would be demanding the arrest of all those politicians who had a hand in decimating the children of Iraq and Afghanistan.

In the NSW Parliament they have just discovered a heap of politicians laptops have been accessing either child porn, betting sites or adult porn..except it all appears to be pop-up stuff.
