Irish Tax cuts announced so far -

Among the cost-saving measures announced by the minister was a means-tested 4% cut in current pensions for public sector pensioners.

He said there would be no cut to the state pension this year, but working-age payments would be cut by about 4%.

A plethora of benefit cuts included a 10 euro per month cut in child benefit.

Departmental spending cuts of 2bn euros were also detailed, with the biggest savings to be made in the health and children, and social protection ministries.

There was also an across-the-board cut to existing tax credits, while the tax relief for rent payments would be phased out, and other property-related tax reliefs cut back.

there was no 'Labour' government..just a bunch of poseurs surfing into power on a lie.

Ireland is just reaping what happened in the USA and UK..banks lending to bond holders with no government controls.

As usual with Nanny State Corporate Welfare the corporate sector is not required to either explain what it does with it's handouts nor pay it back..indeed we bail them out.

Payback and recriminations are for the little man..ie : the majority of ordinary taxpayers.

Even worse they are insulted as well for merely claiming lawful government benefits. Told they have no right to be living in the posh end of town and that they are scroungers and work shy.
