Our tax monies have gone for years to prop up a regime in a society that encourages men to rape 8 year old children and our media and politicians choose to turn a blind eye.

Maybe no surprise, but why are military men allowed to do what others are not, by our society I mean, weird hysterical lunatic asylum that it is? They go after UK men who go to do this sort of stuff in Thailand, after all. The UK government goes after them.

What is the explanation in any terms, at any level, for this apparent contradiction?

The Afghans are now regretting that the Soviets have gone.

Rather than attack from the air and kill innocents with 'drones', at least the Soviets only waged a ground war.

And they actually built schools, hospitals and so on in an effort to win hearts and minds (and advance Communism of course)
