Police gave Woman a warning about Underage Sex 13 Years, 4 Months ago
Mother of two, 25, is jailed after being caught naked in bed with 14-year-old schoolboy lover

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1340177...14-jailed-years.html

Seems the police were involved earlier, and instead of arresting her gave her a warning to keep away!
Could you imagine this happening to a man? Another absurd example of how the police uphold the laws of this silly land.

The boy was 14,and so willing he boasted about it on facebook. It is of course a waste of money to put her in prison,as it is to jail men who have consensual sex with other similar age teens.I really don't know what's worse about Britain, the weather,or the ongoing stupidity of ALL recent governments, including this current bunch of unreformed jokers.

While I don't know what the laws should be I still think there needs to be a massive re-think and investigation into how children are dealt with.

So-called sexual assaults (as you say..some are willing partners) over shadows the majority of abuse...by neglect, physical and mental abuse.

I still harp on how this has got out of control and a perfect example of the current insanity :

the sad case of the parents who went to Portugal and neglected (in legal terms- abused) their 3 small children by leaving them alone for several nights in a row with tragic circumstances.

Yet the father is promoted by CEOPs and invited to lecture police when he should have been charged with neglect.

Meanwhile there are a dozen similar aged missing children in Britain who the public knows nothing about.

Haven't I read recently that the UK police investigated this case but did not find enough evidence to charge.

Perhaps they were investigating murder when they should have (initially at least) been investigating neglect ?

Have you read the comments on the article ? If this had been a 26 year old man sleeping with a CONSENTING 14 year old girl people would have been calling for life imprisonment or the death sentence. If this had been a man the article would have started with a paedophile headline. You cant have one law for men and another for women.

Yes, you can ! ..... This is Britain !

We (not so very long ago) had a law where you could get Life Imprisonment for gay sex (at ANY age !)

It would seem that the Police condone women paedophiles given the fact that they only gave the woman in question a verbal warning in the first instance, Imagine if it had been a man and a non virgin 14 year old consenting girl. It seems that you can only be a paedophile if your a man, I think in reality a significant proportion of offending paedophiles are actually women but it gets brushed under the carpet. I think peoples double standard gender specific views on the subject raised by this case are disgusting.

I agree with the views above.

How it can be argued that the lad was harmed, when he obviously had a bloody great time and told everyone so on facebook, I don't know.

A three year prison sentence is absurd in itself for this, but the male/female disparity is clear. A few weeks ago, I posted a link to a story where a group of men had been sent to prison for an average of about four years for TALKING ABOUT underage sex, with one man posing as a teenage girl: no actual children involved at all.

Then someone else posted a link about a chap sent to prison for 10 years for consensual sex with a handful of 15 year old girls when he was 18.

Consider how nasty an assault would have to be to get a prison sentence of three years, and consider also what sort of crimes attract 10 year stretches: manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving etc.

Loopy.
