TOPIC: Wogan's syrup
#67348

Wogan's syrup 13 Years, 3 Months ago
I saw the documentary too and couldn't help noticing that Terry's wig has moved with the times. Back in 1968 when he hosted the aptly named Rose of Tralee contest the one he was wearing was as black as a raven although something about the way it was parted made it look a bit stiff and lifeless.....

I wonder if he started off with a grey wig and dyed it black at first gradually reducing the intensity by adding the odd sprinkle of grey as time moved on?

All Irishmen's hair look like wigs. I think they teach lads from toddler age onwards to comb their hair in the weirdest way possible. As for Tel, he has 'seasonal' toops. But he's a brilliant broadcaster, so who cares.

Makes me think of that fantastic Spitting Image sketch entitled 'One Man and His Wig', I think it had Paul Daniels and Bruce Forsyth featured. I'm sure it must be on Youtube somewhere!

Seeing as you mentioned Paul Daniels did you catch the news story today about him selling one of his wigs on eBay, raising £1,100 for charurdee?

I agree with the earlier poster; El Tel has definitely become an institution at the beeb. I can't remember how man times he had me rolling on the floor in hysterics during Eurovision!

Its the same kind of mystery hair as Tony Blackburn. It must be an interweaved brushover. I wonder if they show Wogan on a windy day without a hat on - if it doesn't flap open like a trap door, there would be enormous underhair turbulence
