the £21bn cost of public sector fraud alone could pay for 800 secondary schools or 615,000 nurses.

so it's not all dole 'scroungers' then ?

just think..if the government made Vodafone pay their $5B in tax that would pay fora few schools.

And then they could start on all the other tax rorting corporations (including St Bono)

...or Vodaphone could switch HQ to France and we'd end up with absolutely nothing ?

no...just make them pay tax on all profits earned in Britain before those profits are re-patriated to their HQ to pay that phoney debt on the books that says they are making a loss each year.

Why France ?..they are far stricter than GB..surely the Caymans where heaps of Murdoch companies are headquartered..except they aren't of course-they are run from Delaware which has laws that prevent public scrutiny of private corporations..except they aren't run from there are they..they are run from wherever Rupert happens to be that day.

Gloabalisation-the biggest scam ever foistered upon the tax-paying public.

here's my new plan..I am setting up a corporation in the Caymans called Electricians R'Us..and every electrician in Britain can join as a "contractor" whereby all his jobs are funelled to me which I send back to him although he can collect the cash on my behalf and keep it but he owes me a fortune for the set-up of the company which means the poor sods operate at a loss so no tax is paid..lots of creative book-keeping but all legal..shop-workers next, factory workers (if there are any factories left) and so on.

Why should anyone pay tax ?...and if someone objects we will simply say Electricians R'Us will move to France if ya don;t shaddup.

I hate when people moan about jobseekers and so called dole dosers yes some people do prefer the dole but the majority want to go out a earn money.

It is very difficult at the moment and will be I have finally got a job which I started in November but it is not gurantte permanent till my contract finishes in May.

Their is a average of 16 people going for every job and there is never a gurantte of doing a 30 hour week as companies are stream-lining. Politians are are the worst they are the ones who spent public money are useless events and on themselfs.

Millenium Bridge cost more to repair than to build, Dome was empty for years but tax payers still need to pay for maintence, London Eye is boring and a eye sore and Olylmpic villige be a disater if West Ham get it.

And let not forget the loan we gave to Ireland which we will never get back.

Bono and Bob Supporter

Re:Fraud cost each of us £765 last year 13 Years, 3 Months ago
Dear Veritas
The story is about fraud in the UK. Bono's tax affairs aren't fraudulent and have nothing to do with the UK, they concern the U2 tax treatment moving from Ireland to the Netherlands. Bono still lives in Ireland and as an individual still contributes to the Irish economy. As a band U2's earnings come from all parts of the world so choosing the most financially beneficial tax home makes sense. Ireland as a country is always trying to attract individuals and corporations with its tax planning laws so U2 aren't doing anything that isn't consistent with what the country is doing itself.

There seems to be a lot of resentment on this board against rich Irish musicians trying to do something good outside their normal sphere of influence. You with your snide Saint Bono remark and JK's obsession with knocking Bob Geldof on every occasion possible. These guys are trying to do "the right thing" yet everything their every move seems to be treated with suspicion. I assume them both being Irish has nothing to do with it but with all the conspiracy theories I read on this site you never know do you?

I've got nothing against either man. I disliked Live Aid which I thought was a lousy gig and I believed wasted charity money into the hands of corrupt officials whilst detouring it from genuine and well organised established charities.

Good Luck, Andrew.
I'm sure you will get back what you put in.

love their music but I always laugh when Bono and Bob sing beneath crystal chandeliers for the masses in Africa.

Met Bono-extremely pleasant man and easy to talk to.

Met Bob..fucking rude cunt and the way he treated my dear friend Michael Hutchence's parents pretty well sums up what a creep he is. There you made me something horrible about the creature and I never even mentioned him.

creeps can make good music too.

I don't give a fuck what they have. All it takes is for everyone to pay their fair share like every wage earner is compelled to.

I don't recall Sir Elton ever moving anything off-shore.
