I just saw him interviewed on Sky News by Dermot Murnaghan. I'm staring at Blair and thinking, hmmm, ex leader of a 'Socialist' Party. Not!

Not indeed !

I wonder if he'd like to re-read his speeches (made about Saddam) - freedom, democracy, free elections etc - and then re-apply them to Mubarak etc ?

A shudder goes down my spine when Blair says in mid interview - "Look..."

Perhaps he's exasperated that you have not read / swallowed the "Dodgy Dossier" ?

What do you expect from a politician? They all wriggle their way out of situations where they have been proved wrong, it goes with the territory. I always assume there is a subtext when a politican changes their tune about a dictator or wriggles. Take Gadaffi - he's considered persona grata enough to get invited to speak at the UN these days. But Ken, I'm sure you've done your fair share of wriggling too and didn't you also dabble in a bit of vanity politics yourself onc;e upon a time??

I got more sense out of David Frost today at his press conference on the ME than T.Blair exhibits.

(and ps : the shows piece in Frost Nixon never happened !)

True, KB .... but there are very few who actually "manufacture" a situation in advance !!!!!!

Has anyone seen The Ghost? Polanski was close to the bone with the storyline.

You STILL haven't got it, have you ?

Democracy is OK .... IF the people elect the right government ! (ie ignore Hamas if they win !)

Democracy is OK .... IF the winners kow-tow to us ... otherwise a compliant dictator who has people boiled alive (as in Uzbechistan) or has people's finger nails pulled out (as in Egypt) is OK too !

Apart from that ... if the new rulers will do our torture and abuse for us (as in Egypt, Morrocco and Jordan) - so we can deny any involvement - then thats a bonus !
