On one hand saying the odious Mubarack was a 'force for stability' and that the actions of the Egyptian protestors could lead to 'more democracy in the ME'.

The man sees things through a prism of his own invention. He calmly accepts that the title of "Middle East Peace Envoy" when he is responsible for an invasion of a ME country which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

I am convinced that he is utterly insane. He has destroyed the once great Labour Party.

Yes I must admit I gasped when he lectured the Egyptians about their next move when perhaps the greatest tragedy in modern times was the farce that followed the victorious invasion of Iraq.

Agree - but wait a minute .... is it really insanity to ensure YOU come out on top (and massively rich !) when all around are dying and living in instability?

Have they (the Iraqis, or rather the imposed rulers) actually decided who "won" the last election (held a year ago) yet ?

Last week Tony Blair said Mubarak was "immensely courageous and a force for good". On Sunday he said Mubarak's departure could be a "pivotal moment for democracy in the Middle East". The man charged by the major world powers with bringing peace to the region can't make up his mind whether he is for despotism or democracy from one week to the next.
