In today's Times Kaya Burgess does a brilliant hatchet job allowing him to hang himself.
"Virtually every man apart from the father of a young girl or someone's husband, is going to have admiration for him (Berlusconi)".
EVERY man Max?
"There are plenty of 21 year olds who look five years younger". Advocating underage sex if you can get away with it.

Max - here's some more rope.

Ken, I fear this one may have been taken out of context. A lot of Italians do seem to admire him (Berlusconi) in spite of what he (allegedly) gets up to. Was he referring to those same people perhaps?

I agree with those statements by Max Clifford, but what's sickening, of course, is the hypocricy, and the fact that it reveals that JK was the victim of homophobic double standards.

no he blew it.

He's basically said that whether Berlosconi is innocent or not-that every Italian would admire a man who has illicit sex with an underage girl (ie :pedophile).

He's insulted every Italian and exposed himself as a man who thinks a kiddie fiddly can be admired.

Good news actually- as when an ex-underage Page 3 steps forward to sue News Corp for historic child abuse, she won;t be getting a kiddy fiddler admirer to be her agent.

Max Clifford may have (foolishly) tarred all Italian men with the same brush with his comments but did he actually say that he himself admired Berlusconi? Having political sympathies more to the left I would - not having read the article - guess not. Also, Berlusconi has said he believes there's a left-wing plot to bring him down, though I doubt he'll be hiring Mr. di Stefano to defend him.

So, has a well-known Red Top failed in the past to check the ages of the girls it featured topless on a certain page? That's very negligent of them. Murdoch won't be happy if the poo hits the fan on this one on top of all the revelations about phone hacking. Incidentally, why hasn't anyone criticised the phone network operators for having such crap software in place that a 5 year old could gain access to a complete stranger's voice mail box?

I think Veritas is referring to the fact that the Sun basically rescued its flagging circulation back in the early 80's by publishing pornographic pictures of 16 year old kids like Samantha Fox.

Of course, it was legal back then, so the issue really involves morality and hypocricy. Have News International ever published illegal child porn? Yes, back at the time of Hurricane Katrina, they published pictures of topless 16 year olds as part of a 'sexpose' on how wildly British young people behave on the Greek islands. This was sometime AFTER the law had been changed by zanulabor increasing the minimum age for porn from 16 to 18.

But back to Belusconi. It's no doubt true that most Italian men would admire him. Italy is one of the last places on earth where the shameless American/feminist perversion and exploitation of the term 'paedophile' has taken hold. If you're a pretty 14 year old girl, you're still going to get admiring looks from the local men. Yea, 100's of old bags were marching against him, if I was a 40 year old women I'd be screaming that any man who looks at a woman under 30 is a pedo and should be tortured to death, I think it's called the 'selfish gene'. The only wonder is that women get away with creating laws that criminilize millions of men on that basis.

I get the point asbolutely though, by his own red top system of ethics that he has helped promote (and made money from), Max Clifford is undoubtedly a paedo loving defender of kiddy fiddling.

Yes Blacklit- I'm referring to the topless Page 3 girls that were not illegal then but would now be considered child pornography.

Although the laws were not retrospective-there is an interesting conundrum

Anyone who had similar pictures in their posession would be charged and I think it's only a matter of time before a former Page 3 girl under 18 comes forward and says 'historic abuse'.

Any other person who had porn pics taken when they were underage could do the same. While I may be wrong about the law and if I am then it's even worse. Why -when historic abuse is an offence-why are the Page 3 girls specifiaclly excluded ?

It's the hypocrisy that gets me. And Murdoch claims to be a conservative and 'moral' and was said to be horrified when the Sun's Page 3 girls first began-until he saw the increase in circulation.

And I've been delighted that so many commentators have picked up on this story (several, I know, from this site) and are quoting Max's ludicrous comments... yes, he was probably joking but many a truth spoken in jest and the real Max emerged smelling of shit.
