I know the feeling; I've been tempted to give in as the barrage of loathing kicked in.

But I do worry about the intelligent people who can see the idiocy but only dare whisper. The Times letter pages are packed with commentary about the absurdity of Cameron's attitudes but nobody dares do anything.
