TOPIC: Gadaffi or Gaddafi?
#68564
Gadaffi or Gaddafi? 13 Years, 2 Months ago
Press uses both - which is correct
Incidentally, although I'd like him over thrown simply because I'd like to be able to enter and see the country, does anyone else share a sneaking admiration for the man who is giving the finger to the rebels, the world and, most important of all, the media?

He's a far more sympathetic figure than Mugabe.

Totally agree.
Was flying back from Cairo yesterday morning, and even the Egyptian sitting next to me admitted a begrudging respect for him

Libya could easily become another Somalia/Iraq ridden with internal fighting,it needs strong leadership, even if the leader is not exactly a savory character.

"The West" keeps saying it will make Libya a "no fly zone" if or when the regime starts "killing their own people".

Like Ian Tomlinson you mean? I suppose the Brazilian doesn't count as "our own people" being as he was a "filthy foreigner"?

Sunday Times today spell him Gadaffi; most others say Gaddafi; some say Qadaffi - I do wish someone would decide.

I thought it was Ghaddafi

he is the most stylish leader and has a nice range of headwear. Does he have any hair on top ?. I'm always amused by politicians who dye their hair black. Someone should tell them they look like used car dealers.
