Actually a very sensible decision,but a man would never have been sentenced in the same way.

Indeed yes - Leah Davies, 30 gets a 12 month suspended sentence for having sex with a willing 15 year old boy. Yet I got 7 years for the same thing (which I didn't do, but that's another story) 30 years ago. Yet the media prefers not to say my prosecution was homophobic.

Isn't there any basis you could appeal regarding the length of the sentance you were given, or even sue, on the basis of these double standards?

I'm thinking in terms of 'selective justice' which clearly these double standards are examples of, and which is supposed to only happen in corrupt third world states.

There has also been barbaric sentances recently given to men, including very young men, for having sex with willing 15 year old girls.

Why is this teacher any less of a 'paedophile' and a child sex abuser than the Polo teacher who had sex with that more than willing 15 year old girl? We're supposed to take teachers having sex with pupils even more seriously than in other cases.

The media are almost accusing Prince Andrew of being a nonce through association with somebody who, shock horror, paid to have a sexy massage from a 17 year old 'girl'.

This is why there is a growing men's rights movement.

what would be the point in banging her up for years ?. As it is the woman will have no teaching career ever again so she is being punsihed severely for life.

For some reason tabloid readers think jail is the answer to everything.

Imagine if this had been a man and 15year old school girl, talk about double standards
