Just had the most delicious meal - as regular visitors may know, my favourite fish is mackerel - mainly because of the lovely chewy texture but also the deep sea flavour. So - two fat, fresh, line caught grilled Cornish mackerel with pats of herb butter and half a lemon, roast potatoes in beef dripping, green garden tiny peas and a glass of chilled Puligny-Montrachet white wine.

Boasting again - that wine must have set you back at least £200. You should try the Co-Op occasionally; they've got some excellent French wines in at the moment reduced down to £4.99 a bottle. I sware you'll not be disappointed with them - all the poshos in Shere go there to buy theirs!
