Not just the Libyan tribe which opposes him; should we be cheering for the underdog as the might of the entire globe masses against him?

Meanwhile we kind Westerners fighting for democracy (doh!) are about to back various other sides uprising against their rulers.

And today 250,000 are rising up against our dim Government in Trafalgar Square; hopefully Obama will send tanks to support them and the French will declare the UK a no fly zone.

Will it be 250,000 JK? I doubt it very much - the "march" (by those who dont have an answer or a clue) is already underway, and the dole scum will not be out of bed yet (besides, its cold !)!

Quite correct, Prunella ... only the clinically insane could believe that killing your own people - because they wanted freedom - was a rational strategy.

Oh that thin line between insanity and genius! Yes; I'm not a Gaddafi fan and I think, given the choice (and a decent alternative) I'd support a strong, fair, decent opponent but as I watch the entire globe try to stamp him out I cannot help but have some admiration for the man - backed up by what I've always heard about his regime - that, on the plus side, the standard of living for the poor is the best in North Africa. On the negative side - terrible repression and lack of freedom.

But isn't it wonderful that our fine Government have found this goldmine of wealth that we can spend on helping every tough regime get overthrown? After Democracy, with luck we can stamp Christian values on the infidels and the worst we can anticipate will be a row over women priests.

The west can be extremely stupid concerning foreign policy.

Maybe veritas - but I have long maintained that we wouldn;t need such swinging cuts if we were not supporting so many parasites.
