I simply can't work out why it's taken so long; involvement was barking mad from Day One. There was no valid reason to take one side against the other - apart from OIL. Cameron and Clegg must have been out of their minds - ditto the vast majority of the House of Commons - overwhelmed by media pressure. We crossed the line on this one between sanity and insanity. Now the "coalition" is killing rebels by mistake. Stop it now. Stop it. Stop it. Spend the money on solving the UK problems.

Excellent US Congressman puts our side across on the Marr show and William Hague starting furiously to back peddle on Libya - it's clearly dawning on our mad Government ministers that this was a crazy intervention.

For a moment I thought I heard Hague say, when Marr asked him why no UK/US intervention in the Ivory Coast humanitarian disaster - "no oil there".

I'm really surprised the actual expense hasn't been a big topic so far. Here you have a public being told all kinds of painful cuts must be made, and yet millions are being thrown at a dubious 'conflict'. Even with the Falklands, Thatcher was warned by Harold Macmillan, 'Don't have the Chancellor in the war cabinet because he'll do nothing but moan about the expense'.

It's just one of the strange things - the media here seem determined to toe the Government line whereas the better story is actually precisely the one you've identified Pru. Personally, as I think all politicians are useless, I don't care about the spend but I do care about the (lack of) morality.

I will NOT have my taxes spent on killing people.

You have two choices

1 Don't pay your taxes and go back to jail

2 Vote for the Green Party

You're welcome

Your thread title doesn't appear to be true JK, at least according to YouGov:

'Overall people remain slightly more in support than opposed to the military intervention (by 43% to 37%), but are rapidly becoming less positive about how well it is going. In the middle of last week people thought the action was going well by a margin of 3 to 1 - peaking on March 29th with 57% thinking things were going well and 19% thinking things were going badly. By the time of the Sunday Times poll this had narrowed to 42% thinking it was going well and 30% thinking it was going badly - presumably the shift is in response to stories of rebel forces being routed in attacks.'

There are some on here regretting their backing of this silly action.Let's hope more people in general reflect on the full consequences of their actions before committing their support to officail state sponsored terrorism.
