TOPIC: Grand National...
#69632
Grand National... 13 Years, 1 Month ago
My friend Deniz's favourite week of the year (he's 82)... last year he insisted I bet so I put a little on Don't Push It (second Hedgehoppers song was Don't Push Me) and I won a fortune.

Which means I don't stand a hope in hell of winning this year.

But how could I resist a horse with Oscar in its name ridden by the son of my Cambridge friend's brother?

For what its worth, my friend has a horse called Santa's Son running in the National. Has been a steady winner over the months.

Rather annoying - I had second, third and fourth. But Deniz got the winner at 14-1.

Yours did well Angel - for the first half anyway!

It was well worth a fiver punt just for the first half buzz JK. Thank God I don't have an addictive personality!

Rather annoyingly? Did you only bet for a win. I'm very happy with getting 2nd and 4rth with the only two horses I bet on - each way! The Oscar one being bet on due to your tip. (Thanks).

I'm not a serious gambler Dixie (music is my "safe bet") so I'm not really interested in anything other than Win or Lose. Hopefully the Oscar I lost in the National will be won in Hollywood next spring.
