Jeremy Bowen of the BBC seems to be talking a lot of sense 13 Years ago
I really get the feeling he's breaking ranks from the party line and cannot help being honest - there are legitimate claims for both sides, which illustrates that we - and NATO - should not be involved. We've made it worse, not better.

And in his latest report he has admitted something very important - most Libyans want Gaddafi to stay. Which makes this ridiculous situation even more appalling - what on earth are we - is anyone - doing supporting a minority rebel movement? The ramifications are extraordinary. Should another country - or NATO - back the citizens of Brighton if they decided to split from the UK?

Bowen gets better and better - prompted by the pro-rebel BBC News presenter he refused to go along with rebel claims of deaths and wounded; he's not in any way pro Gaddafi but neither is he willing to back the rebels.

Bowen is excellent. Better than John Simpson in my views who tends to bluster along the corporate line. Hope nothing happens to Bowen over there...because the next thing will be hostage negotiations...
