Loathed it. Refuse to be happy at the media's request. Kate Middleton is beautiful, but she's no better than anyone else. Sorry for being a cynic. I still believe we'd all be better off without all of this nonsense. No substance whatsoever. Shallow and hollow.

you are of course entirely right. Kate's a commoner and no better than you or me as indeed are any of that family she just married.

It's all froth and bubble , bread and circuses and waving colored paper for the peasants to cheer at.

I think they are just a tourist attraction and a bloody good one that works. Without them the UK would be a dreary place.

And if they were replaced it would be with another tier of executive government..a president or something equally boring.

The Rioyal Family are the best show bis act in town and the world loves them. It works ..they pull in the punters like no-one else could.

Contrast it with the Danish prince who married that Tasmanian bird a few years..completely ignored by the world but the wedding was a mini version of Kate & Wills with all those toytown crowned heads. No-one flocking to Denmark though.

The pointless couple have now moved close to where we live, so we're all making plans to avoid them by spending most of our time in either the library or the barber's.

I never judge people by money or position. I leave that for those less polite than me. Those who refuse to be happy for a young couple, using dubious moral codes to justify thier tolerance are to be pityed.

Maybe Kate Middleton is not better than anyone else, but that does not mean that she is worse than anyone else either. Reverse Snobbery is rather pathetic.

I spend much of my time in libraries...less need to at the barber now.

which is another sore point...the very idea of libraries being closed in Britain is a disgrace.

bet the peasants don't care though.

What you really mean is you have a strong opinion about this couple - as your Mills and Boon whimperings last week made abundantly clear - and, as usual, are intolerant of other views.

Libraries are NOT being closed by LibDem councils veritas
- only by Loony Labour ones (like Manchester)

Shallow point but, why do the media ignore the fact he's losing the thatch at an alarming rate. Too scared to rock the boat? Will we have a skinhead prince before the years out or is it the usual Windsor comb over???

I'm not sure what you're on but made me laugh my ass off.
I'll share it with my class tomorrow. Thanks.

She's a Duchess !
And didn't the Queen give him Northern Ireland and Scotland as wedding presents ?

I just resent being told that 'we' are all fascinated.

I would have gone walking for the day - but expected rain (which never came).

So, I went shopping instead - and contrary to what the press claims ALL the shops were open(*) and quite busy too ! (I expect they would have been even busier if people had actually realised they were open !)

The buses ran a normal service, and on the route from my home to the nearest town - appx 4 miles - I saw 2 flags out (and suspect one of those had been there since the World Cup !)

(*) M&S did stay closed till 12 noon - but as all their customers are either already dead or very nearly, they were more likely to be deferential !

It was an amazing day. I enjoyed it all - and still am.

When's the divorce ?

EVERY other member of that family has got divorced and William and Kate have already "split-up" once !

Don't you think it all rather cynical - celebrating a "wedding" for a couple who have been living together for 8 years? Its just as I said previously - just part of the ongoing "royal" crusade to keep themselves in business. They are already planning Betty's 60th (next year) and probably Harrys wedding (I wonder where James Gilby will sit????) - the year after.

Actually not "EVERY other member of that family has got divorced". Edward and Sophie are still married.

Actually, In The Know, people like you are one of the reasons I gave up posting regularly here. You became too much.

Your class? Are you all strapped in, or are you allowed to bounce off the walls?
