As we await the result of the referendum on changing our voting system I can't help noticing that proportional representation has delivered a stable, majority government in Scotland whilst good, old fashioned first past the post produced a hung parliament and a coalition in Westminster.
I interviewed Alex on my Talk Radio show ages ago (15 years back?) and was so impressed I asked him - on air - to stop going on about that strange northern area and to please come to London permanently to run the entire UK.
Surely the ultimate answer to the Independence debate?
Seriously, he struck me as highly intelligent, very nice and bright and a damn good leader.
Nothing he's done since has changed my opinion.
You're not getting him JK. Most of his success is because he's the only politician who appears to keep his promises. A rare breed indeed. Your lot could learn a thing or two.
