A horrible, ghastly and extremely tragic event. But it has fuelled the fire of the hang em high brigade across the web. Anyone who isn't stupid would know the death penalty wouldn't have stopped this mentally ill man from doing this. He is someone who is allegedly a 'paranoid schizophrenic' who 'couldn't afford to buy his medication...lived in squalor and had been ignored and neglected..'. Seemingly mental health care in Spain non existent or only there for those that can afford it, and care in the community doesn't work. So the lesson to be learnt here in my view is a simple one, and if learnt there would never be any need for knee jerk reactionary mob vengeance. The gallows would solve nothing.
be careful SE..there is boound to be a Bulgarian in Gran Canaria too
it's shows the awful consequences of cut backs or the ignoring of societies problems in the belief money can be saved.
Clearly this man was highly disturbed and should not have been on the streets.
Don't spend money on mental health...leave huge sections of society living in squalor..cut back on welfare and so on but you will still pay for it down the track in poor mental health, people turning to crime to survice etc etc.
you don't get anything free or without consequences.
mind you this bloke sounds like he may have decapitated a nurse in a psychiatric hospital but then he would have been on his meds.
Is it possible if some of you could act like adults please? I don't appreciate reading through such childish waffle when I've posted up a thread topic.
So it turns out that the Bulgarian (accused of the beheading) had actually been treated in North Wales (as recently as last October !) before disappearing.
Instead of a "migration" post this is turning into an NHS debate.
Latest news on the story is that Ryanair are hitting the bereaved family an excess baggage charge when flying her body home as she hadn't booked ahead.
