"Johnny Come Home" Jake Arnott 12 Years, 10 Months ago
I've just finished this novel (an excellent read) and was wondering if JK has heard of it. Its set in 1972 and chapter 26 ('The Teenscene Discotheque') has a character in it that seems to be pretty blatantly based on JK. The character is called Timothy Royal and is described as having had a hit in the mid-60s called 'Under the Sun'and gone on to make a series of novelty records under various pseudonyms. He is public school and Oxford educated and cultivates a casually aloof manner about the tacky nature of his products. He drives a white Rolls Royce.

Haven't read it but yes, knew all about the character loosely based on the rather shallow image portrayed by the dull prosecution, fortunately not at all like the real thing! Met Jake briefly at the Joe Meek film screening and smiled knowingly at him.
