I don't know about you but....... I'm loathed to take a man seriously who wears a purple frock in public & believes that an invisible man made the world in seven days.
I am no fan of the coalition but if a reality check is needed.............Glass houses & stones.

I think it took 6 days to make the world - on the 7th God rested.

no...he is right. The Cons were a minority elected party so he tells the truth.
and actually..I see little difference in a man who wears a purple frock in public to a man who wears a strange 2 piece suit that is adopted by every man in Parliament as though it's a uniform.
(or for that matter..a bloke who wears a Union Jack sequined jacket )

Whatever !
One thing is blatently clear - the public soundly rejected the (loony) Labour Party !
Pity we cant put all debts "on hold" until (God forbid !) the (loony) Labour Party return to government - and then we'll see what they would do (probably borrow more - to pay the existing bills)!

no-Labour ( who I hated in it's Blair incarnation) were rejected by a minority as the Cons & Lib Dems were elected by a minority (this wouldn't happen if people had voted for AV)
people put debt on hold all the time...it's called a mortgage or investing in a business by borrowing funds to expand etc. And people & businesses thrive by doing so.
The idea that government debt must be paid is another fallacy of voodoo economics. It is also fundementally unfair...it implies that one generation must build infrastructure for the future and also pay for it...and that a future generation gets it for free.

Eh ? (I did say elsewehere that Maths down-under was obviously not very good !)
The results of the last Gen Election were -
Con - 36.1%
Lab - 29.0%
Lib - 23.0%
In what way is 59.1% (Con plus Lib Dem vote) NOT a majority ????
With ONLY 29% Labour were clearly rejected by over 2/3 (and rapidly approaching 3/4 of voters) - an overwhelming majority !).

And pay massive interest - which we cannot afford - in the meantime.
(I wonder if the people of Greece, Ireland or Portugal would agree with you????)

Simple economics veritas - pay your debts and then you have SPARE capacity to invest in the future (not in still paying debts that are still around whilest any benefit from incurring those debts has long gone)

no..you can't pay your debts if you don;t have the money to.
However you can borrow and buy a house which will increase in value as an asset over the years.
You should know this..all your ideas come from News Corp which has influenced popular media in the US, UK and Oz and News Corp now decides what the peasants and their leaders must think and it's built on more debt than you can poke a stick at..in fact debt upon debt as the world will discover when Rupert (thew smartest magician in business) kicks on and the house of cards comes tumbling down.
put the loony left in charge and your problems will be solved..look at China and Russia !!

You should tell that to the Greeks, who now plan a General Strike, even though there is no money, and they now have the lowest credit rating in the world ! What do they expect the government to do?
You confuse mortgages veritas ... quite right that its sensible to take a loan to buy a major asset, but what we are doing is borrowing more to simply pay the interest on the last loan !
Borrow a bit - pay it off. Good.
Borrow a lot - then borrow more to pay interest. Bad ! Very Bad !
I see that your loony Unions have now decided that by striking on June 30th more money will magically appear somehow !
Re:Archbishop criticises coalition 12 Years, 11 Months ago
the answer is simple and Keynes had it. print more money and spend it on huge infrastructure programs..spend your way out of a crisis. FDR did it and set the USA up for 50 years of wealth creation for the middle class.

...Or simply do what got us into this crisis in the first place ... send for yet another credit card and keep spending (hoping that the day of reckoning will never come !)

Perhaps we could buy her a wig? And of course a bottle of milk stout for her bar room escapades in Cleethorpes.
