the murder was absolutely horrific and I am sure the parents must still be haunted by it but it's outrageous that they should be continually quoted as though they have an interest in the man's latest offence.
It's unrelated to the past one and indeed..the sentence for the latest sounded fairly over the top to begin with so why isn't he being given parole as anyone else would ?
It sounds like indefinite incarceration and if he is, as the media says, suffering from mental problems then it's even more shocking as he is being punished for being ill as well.
This whole matter is a perfect example of a media driven campaign that frightens authorities into perverting the whole idea of justice.
Contrast it with the infamous Mary bell case which was conducted without the hysteria (and the murder was as horrible) and she was finally given anew identity and never heard of again.
And that of an crime novel author who I am fond of who changed her name after she and her friend bashed one's mother to death with rocks in NZ when they were kids and she was able to start a new life in the UK.
I am appalled by the current crop of politicians...they do not lead, they follow.
As in Oz..GB now has a parliament that is controlled by News Corp.
