I think you're right in that they will try to relaunch or rebrand, and as such this could be seen as a media stunt as Prezza said on the BBC just now.

Apparently NOTW staff are fuming that 200 of them are getting the chop and Rebekah Brooks is still there.

according to the Guardian the domain name thesunonsunday.co.uk was registered two days ago....
