Rupert's Oz newspapers have articles about a rogue PI hacking kiddies mobiles with nary a mention of the NoTW or Mizz Brooks.

Advertisers consider NoftW boycott over milly dowler scandal :

If advertisers can stop supporting a football club because they retain a teenage boy who served his sentance for talking sexily to a 13 year old girl, then I hope EVERY advertiser will boycott a newspaper that illegally hacked into the mobile of a missing 13 year old girl.

Or else the moral values of British society have truly become perveted by womyn such Rebekah Wade.

Still not a word from the NSPCC and the other child abuse industry groups, err, I mean 'child protection' charities.

Riddled with inaccuracies.

Yes dear, calm down, we understand why turkeys don't vote for christmas, I think we've established that. You're still an angel in your own eyes even if you consider men talking to nubile young girls online a far greater threat, I mean crime, than newspapers hacking into the mobiles of murdered children in order to get a scoop and boost their circulation figures.

One shouldn't be presumptious love. Unless the accused in this case, is the enemy.

Now back to the topic at hand.

Sad how quickly Miliband descended to the depths of cynicism left previously by his mates. Yesterday he wouldn't say anything more than Rebekkah Wade should 'think' a bit. Today, in the Commons, he'd suddenly decided she should resign. Woeful stuff. Whatever one thinks about any government, in situ, due process is what was always was going to dominate the responses today. Grow up.

yes...the US & UK have had a fine history of journalism..especially investigative journalism now dragged down to the lowest common denominator by Murdoch.

He's done it in each country..ie his attacks upon the BBC and the government network ABC in Australia which once produced brilliant shows that exposed all sorts of corruption but now neutered by an incessant right wing attack by News Corp.

Fox news in the US now drives government policy.

When you think of Watergate and how it brought down Nixon....wouldn't happen in this day and age.

Murdoch is the most vindictive media baron of all time...always has been.

Oh do stop this gainsaying nonsense. The vast majority of journalists have always been pretty shameless, lazy, insensitive hacks. How many genuinely responsible, rigorous, principled 'investigative journalists' - throughout history - can you name? That's right. Very few. Most writers care only about filling up that frighteningly blank page.

Why - for pointing out silly arguments? Come on then: who are these gloriously honorable journalists? Just list your top twenty.

It will re-emerge the following Sunday with a new title (I'm hearing Tits of the Week is a possibility).

Now that Murdoch has had his "Ratner" moment, he could use the opportunity to re-brand his other titles too, The Sun could become The Daily Tits and the NotW could be The Weekly Tits.

Whatever he chooses, you can be sure that Britain's wankers will be fully catered for.

I think you're right in that they will try to relaunch or rebrand, and as such this could be seen as a media stunt as Prezza said on the BBC just now.

Apparently NOTW staff are fuming that 200 of them are getting the chop and Rebekah Brooks is still there.
