James Murdoch still believes that Rebekah Brooks (and he and News International) did the "right thing".

What a fool!

Pru; check out the work of Richard Webster (see RIP thread) and read his superb Secrets of Bryn Estyn - and my friend Bob Woffinden. Throw in Ludo Kennedy and you have three great and honourable journos.

Yes, I agree. But that's three! I could probably find you three good policemen.

Putting things in perspective, these are allegations. It smacks of hypocrisy the way most of you are behaving. Where all those who leap to defend the accused now?

What a clever response. I'm still waiting for your long list of highly principled hacks. JK has managed two dead ones and one live one, which is a help but does not in my book amount to a pantheon. But let's not make this place more hypocritical than it already is: after making sweeping generalisations every day, week, month and year about how awful the police, politicians, judges, lawyers, broadcasters and, well, most other professions are, this sudden desire to claim that the Press - of all things - is full of bona fide moral giants, all listening attentively to that sweet demi-god within, the Impartial Spectator, is, to be very frank, as risible as it is pitiful.

you are very good at silly, poorly-informed sweeping statements yourself and I don't give a flying fuck what you think so please think of me as dead as I do you.

"Don't worry about NotW journalists. Everyone knows the unemployed get 5 room houses from council and £50k a year in benefits."
