As he was "allowed" to play International KingMaker for so long, I now get the impression it's not only bad judgement in his decisions as JK highlights, but that someone "higher up" of the illuminati has decided his time in that role is up. Desperate times for both the Murdoch Organisation & the Illuminati

I'm surprised a bit JK tbh. I thought you'd be celebrating the fact he's almost swinging from his own petard. They were soon ready to glory in your own troubles. Not knowing the man and not knowing the business inside and out as you do I'm prepared to accept I'm just one of the regular baa lambs who really doesn't have a clue what is going on...but I'm kinda rubbing my hands that Murdoch is now the current 'media demon'...you reap what you sow, I was told.

Who are the Illuminati? Were they a 1960s hippy group that used lava lamps as part of their act?

make no mistake..RP has that Aussie laid back charm. Why else would so many international bankers be so bedazzled into lending him money ?.

He has always had a ruthless and vindictive streak though and has reveled in 'pay back' in the past.

When he first ventured out from Adelaide he was persona non grata in Melbourne and Sydney as he owned the now defunct The Truth newspaper which was a scandal sheet similar to what the NoTW became.

He didn't create The Truth but he saw the public loved it and obviously recognised the British public had a similar appetite.

He's a business buccaneer and can recognise a void waiting to be filled but he has made disastrous decisions..ie MySpace.

News Ltd has tettered on bankruptcy several times only to be pulled back from the precipice by Rupert.

What is now happening was inevitable.

So much for Rupert's 'training' for today's grilling - he's getting tetchier by the minute, and is looking hopelessly incompetant. And yet he says 'This is the most humble day of my life'. I dread what was the most arrogant!

Seems like a frail, broken man. Can anyone here remember what they were doing 8 odd years ago?

Quite extraordinary; I suspect what we used to call "senility" has begun to creep in; plus, apart from anything else, I think he's going deaf (aren't we all?).

I wonder if he can remember a front page of The Sun from 1989? Many people can, and they're still waiting for an apology from his wretched company.

They're wisely avoiding the croak-voiced robot that is James Murdoch. His head will blow off soon and people will be showered with nuts and bolts.

James..an earnest young man saying absolutely nothing but doing it well.

Rupert really should retire and I reckon he will after this.

I hate to drag this down to the level of the News of the World, but isn't James Murdoch rather attractive and might he be distantly acquainted with Dorothy?

Hmmm.... I remember Ernest Saunders was diagnosed with pre-senile dementia during the Guinness share-trading trial. He appeared to quickly recover from this normally terminal disease after a favorable outcome was reached in his favour.

James looks like someone out of the Gestapo. But with less charm.

I attended the party that James went to on his first job as a 'cadet photographer' on the orders of Rupert. He was 15.

very good looking and very personable..he fell asleep on a sofa on the job and I took a pic..sold it for lots of money.

Straight, married with kids. US Ivy league educated which accounts for his pleasant manner (but meant to be more cut throat than his dad)
