TOPIC: Karma

Karma 12 Years, 9 Months ago
I, like many of us here, had felt the cold winds of despair circling over the last 15 years as our collective society turned to abject bullshit. Ever since Tony B-Liar directed the "collective grief" of the nation into what appeared to me to be a collective "national lobotomy" things seem to have have gotten worse in so many ways. The many issues rearing their ugly head have been featured in many of the thread on here over the years, and I for one was growing to despair of things ever repairing themselves. I was agreeing with JK about the Human Race having effectively timed itself out and the future for new generations being as bleak as they were transparent.

It was with hope I observed the banking crisis, and fascination as we saw the politicians exposed for the cheating scum they were. Nothing, though, prepared me for the happenings of the last few weeks. The News Corp crisis is unpicking at the rotten stitches of the worst of our societies ills - the marriage of corrupt politics and corrupt policing with a morally bankrupt "free press" that was effectively holding every one of us to ransom. To see the NOTW undone by their own hypocritical moral highground is most delightful, and this is only just the start. The fuss being made now about simple voicemail hacking will pale into virtual insignificance when other morally bankrupt press methods are exposed. I am finding it highly amusing how 'gentle' the press coverage (sans BBC) has been up to know as there are very few journalists who have not been prepared to get into bed with Murdoch, only the real heroes such as Charlie Brooker have been able to maintain a constant outspoken view on this. Basically, there were very people it seems whom Murdoch didn't have over a proverbial barrel although I concede he is merely part of (though the biggest part, no doubt about that) the cancer.

Simplistic this may be, but it has to prove karma is alive and well. This is almost as important as the fall of an empire, given that he (RM) seems to have been playing Kingmaker for the past 30/40 years.

Interestingly, a "tweet" from JK's old "mate" Jon Ronson came to light a couple of days ago - Rupert had rang him, out of the blue, to remind him of the "support" his organisation had given his ventures in the past and "could he count on his (Ronsons) support now"? Says an awful lot about how the media has been cap-in-hand to him for so long.....

something is certainly happening and I believe karma is part of it.

Blair was the ultimate wolf in sheep's clothing.

But will there be any change in the USA?
