Press Gazette is reporting that every Sunday newspaper had spectacular rises in sales since the NoTW bit the dust and overall sold far more copies that the NoTW did on Sundays.
The
Sun on Sunday looks dead in the water.
Private Eye has quite a big piece about NI's tax situation which is-basically the corporation pays such little tax it is a joke. Profits from all over the world filter back to places like Litchenstien and so on.
In Oz the boss of NI is pompously rabbiting on about how 'clean' the NI tabloids are there but once the US Inland Revenue begins to look at the books there is bound to be tears before bedtime. ( Rupert's favourite broadsheet should never have threatened to "destroy The Greens" 6 months ago just as that political party takes the balance of power for 6 years.)
All the NI companies are tied together for tax reasons so pretending one branch is 'clean' won't wash.
Private Eye also touches on the Operation Ore case where the Met basically handed over police files to New Int but that's just the tip of the iceberg. I can think of several cases in Oz alone where likewise happened.
The real reason Mr Gamble's little empire CEOPs was 'merged' will become apparent and all the whispers over the years may be shown not to have been idle gossip.
So many people are going to jail including coppers, hacks and red heads.
