Well, you can't invade another country and kill people then not expect something bad will happen to you. Don't need karma to explain it when simple causation will work just fine. Make people angry enough and they'll try to hurt you.

I once interviewed a former Oz Army minister and he told me (off the record) about negotiations with allies in the ghastly Vietnam war. The handfull of allies always wanted to be posted with anyone but American forces in operations as the Viet Cong always targeted the top officer in US troops as when killed-the rest went to pieces.

Helicopters always seem to crash in Afghanistan. They don't get shot down then?

Yes it IS true.
No doubt the Yankers would have tried to "doctor" the news (like when they lied about trying to capture Bin Laden alive) but it could not be suppressed fast enough.

The Ministry of Defence is investigating claims that a (British) soldier sliced fingers off dead Taliban fighters to keep as souvenirs.

It is understood the allegations relate to a soldier from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders who was serving in Afghanistan.

The claims centre on the battalion's last tour of duty in the country.
