I wonder how many people listening this morning will be struck by how annoyed, rattled and generally panicky Cameron became when the subject of the Bullingdon Club was raised. A man who sees a huge difference in wanton destruction perpetrated by a privileged few and that perpetrated by the great unwashed. A hypocrite, and someone who clearly believes in stamping down hard on some immediately, all the while spouting platitudes about "broken Britain", while demurring from holding those who society ought to expect - but continues to fail to demand - a good example from to account for billions of pounds'worth of ripoffs. It's not just Cameron who is at fault, though he is a fine exemplar of exactly what really is "broken" in Britain. Society needs to take its portion of the blame. We really should be doing something about the spivs who have turned our parliament and our financial institutions into personal {and extremely lucrative} personal fiefdoms. But we aren't. So we must continue to live with the underclass that career politicians, our own selfishness and our own stupidity have jointly created.
I was also listening to the Today programme and he did sound rattled when asked about the Bullingdon Club. I did think he got off lightly though on that count.
