TOPIC: loony left at the BBC ?

loony left at the BBC ? 12 Years, 7 Months ago
can't see it myself. Watching the new UK government is like watching a re-run of the last 10 years in Oz (the time I've been here).

The ABC was bastion of lefties..so they said. It's not enough the right wing have every tabloid, current affair's shows, shock jocks running at the mouth non-stop..but how dare there be a perceived 'lefty' anywhere ?

The BBC beats the war drums like everyone else..maybe even worse as it gives an appearance of being credible.

Evan Davis is correct...there is absolutely no difference to Cameron and The Bullingdon Club and the recent rioters..just different reasons (perhaps the Bullingdon Club was even sicker..destruction just for the fun of it).

Cameron is correct though..we all do silly things when young so but what about 10/12/18 year old rioters..?

amazing hypocrisy..Cameron is making things worse.

predictions : all the hard core efforts to get 'scroungers'..the 120, 000 "problem families" (??) off welfare will come to nought...why?..because it costs more to do it than just pay them beer money each week.

No dismantling of the NHS and so on..it will be business as usual.

Sorry In The Know..your day hasn't come yet

The older and less reactionary I become, the more I come to realise how much the term "loony left" is - and always has been - little more than a construct of a tabloid press keen to break unions and discredit politicians they regard as dangerous to their profits and dubious moralities. What we regard here today as pretty damn right wing would have been regarded in Hitler's Germany as "loony left". As I have just written in another thread what is at the heart of this is also simply a matter of context and perspective.

Whatever happened to Red Ken at British Leyland ?
A Labour peerage perhaps?
Is he now Lord Loony of Strikesville ?

British Leyland we know about - it went bust (thank you Unions) !!!

I know Birmingham and BL well, obviously you don't.
It was Red Robbo, and it went bust in 1975 because of bad management primarily (£17 million to develop the Marina) !!!

Thank you, ITK, for a really useful illustration of the simplistic mentality I was referring to.

Some people need to keep it simple, and if you take your learning from the Sun then you will cause much merriment, when you try to impose your very limited talents on others
