Would anybody here want squatters in their home?

I'm now living in a new country and reading the history- some of the wealthiest families were squatters ..they became known as the 'squatocracy" as they became rich and powerful.

My best friend here is one of them..I only just found it his 2 vast properties, the best in the state-were basically squatted on by his ancestors.

So it's all about ownership and if you can demonize squatters-preferably as Polish Gypsies !!..

and what about the stars who lived in squats..Boy George (for years)

I'm not too sure what the point of the article was IA except that the DM usually finds someone to demonise..this time Gypsies-ie some Gypsy nicked your wallet therefore all Gypos are the same.

A rule not applied to others in thiS society (well except by ITK..scroungers etc).

I agree with the judge. That doesn't mean terrible things don't happen.
ie-there are shocking people driving on the road but most drivers are sane...or people riot and destroy (Bullingdon Club)while others just go to UNi and get on with learning.

I have a solution to all this..and it was one proposed by certain Labour members decades ago (including God-T.Benn) that empty homes should be taxed (no doubt they are a tax deduction now) as ...and I doubt things are different..in the 70s/80s there were something half a million empty properties in the UK.
