On the Eleventh of September 2001 my Old Bailey trial proper started (jury selection the day before).

As I've told elsewhere, when I asked my barrister Ron Thwaites QC (very expensive) how jurors could concentrate on the silly and trivial charges against me whilst people were leaping from the World Trade Centre towers, he replied "British Justice is not affected by minor global events".

That was the moment when I knew I'd entered a lunatic asylum - or fallen down a rabbit hole.

Off with their heads.

Funnily enough - my life has hardly changed at all in the respects that matter - friends, family (except my Mum's death 4 years ago), work, reading, films, TV, music... It was a fascinating and valuable experience, enriching my life rather than lessening it.

You've just got to get Record Of The Year back on prime-time TV, then it will be as if nothing had ever happened!

An update of 'the trouble with the 70s would be interesting.
