there is a theory that Britain gets European labour cheaply..not having to educate or skill them.

Successive governments have created this dangerous underclass..riots..including Blair Inc.

The ideal solution is to (like FDR) create huge infrastructure programs and guarantee everyone a minimum paying job with all the benefits (as he did) thus everyone wins.

with what?

We are trying to reduce our deficit (thank you loony Labour !) - not increase it.

All these "infrastucture" projects STILL need paying for.

You would have thought - according to your ideas - that Greece would now have the best economy in Europe after all those massive infrastructure projects for the Olympic Games?

Greece has a CCC credit rating now ... meaning "junk" - cannot borrow money at ANY rate !

sadly I have to agree In The Know that even though you are family (wrong side) you have the most shallow understanding of economics and really just sound like a Daily Mail poster.

Blair and previous governments created the present calamities...Cameron etc look incapable of solving them (and not too sure Millibrand has much of a clue either).

JK is right..all going to hell in a handbasket

There are indeed plenty of jobs, but if you check it out all the jobs are still going to foreigners

The only way over this is to leave the EU,and to regain control of our job markets.

... and if we leave - to suit the underclass - will our biggest market not also disappear ? Thats very good economics - when you are down do your best to get rid of the only customer you still have left LOL !

Jobs will always go to the best candidate ... not the fault of "foreigners"

Its not the foreigners fault' that they are keen and enthusiastic (its because our lack-lustre alternative are little more than couch potatoes).

Till then we have to accept that cheaper labour will continue to prevail.

... and so it should !
When we you realise that everything has a price and if your talents are not worth anything then thats exactly what you get !!!

yes and when that race to the bottom happens capitalism will collapse..ie : no customers left.

I reckon I as a socialist has a better understanding of capitalism and if I live in a capitalist society I want it to be a genuine one...not 'corporatism' which is what is happening now.

cheaper and cheaper labour=your house prices collapse along with everything else.

Warren Buffet, a right wing billionaire even understands this.

Its not me, veritas ... its your loony Labour people !
They want cheap socks and underwear from Primark but expect huge wages for actually making it ! So, (like many other things) it has to be out-sourced.

Result ? No jobs for UK citizens.

This will prevail UNTIL they realise that they can only be paid what the end customer will pay for the goods they manufacture.

IA wants high wages for everyone ... how much would your Primark socks cost then ?

how many times do we have to tell you In The Know...there hasn;t been a Labour government in Britain for decades.

All you have had is 2 right of centre parties and as John Pilger says..you would be lucky to slide a cigarette paper between they are so similar

so loony left is same same, loony right.

Try post 74560 -

"Till then we have to accept that cheaper labour will continue to prevail".

isn't that a plea for higher wages ?

Sounds well out of context, put a clickable link in,then we will see.The search does not show that up for me.

Oh and as for Primark socks etc, they're cheaper because of the WTO opening trade up in textiles in 2004.while EU beaucrats make life harder here with silly new dictats the asians are busy making and selling us socks
