TOPIC: Harriet Harman
#74706
Harriet Harman 12 Years, 7 Months ago
Is there anyone who better epitomises what is wrong with modern politicians? I loathe her. She is entirely amoral, she shifts allegiances without hesitation when it suits her, she speaks all of the latest party approved cliches (e.g. 'flatlining') like some wire-singed robot and - surely the most humiliating sight in politics these days - she sits near Miliband and nods (on and on and on) like Churchill the dog as he waffles on every PMQs. Watching her on Question Time tonight made me wonder why anyone votes at all.

Sad thing is she's related to the great Joseph Chamberlain

And another thing... Have you noticed how all politicians these days respond to most questions by saying, 'Look...' as if they're trying to educate a dimwitted kid in primary school. It started, of course, with Blair - that little exasperated grimace, followed by a strained conciliatory smile, then, 'Look...' And of course the irony is they don't want you to look, or listen, or think. It's Westminster White Noise. Once again Harman is a prime example, but she doesn't even try to pretend it's anything more than yet another obfuscatory gimmick. That's the really depressing thing about her - she's utterly shameless about her contempt for genuinely constructive political discourse.
