Watching my Danedream (thanks Anders!) win the Arc de Triomphe reminds me of when Bean and I and several other young friends (including the gorgeous Sophie who looked like the girl in Last Tango) were lunching in the Longchamps dining room and after the next table finished their meal and were leaving, a lady came over to me and asked me if I was an actor.

Her boss was a film director George Roy Hill (Butch Cassidy;The Sting and many others) and insisted I should star in his new film - called A Little Romance.

Some weeks later after much negotiation he decided I was too young and instead gave the role to his second choice - a much older (and far inferior actor) called...
