I said they were a little cabal ! ITK right again !!!

You may find ITK's attitude amusing, but others, especially JK do not.

You speak for everyone else now do you ?

If somebody starts on me,I respond, and when the poster does it to others then they may well decide to do the same.

After "calling-up" your pathetic little cabal - afraid to stand alone are we ?

So what I wonder is why you pull me over my responces to ITK,but on the numerous occasions he insults others you never mention it?

Translates as ... how dare you criticise me? I'll set my "friends" on you !

Others will no doubt want to add to this,I'm working in Belgium for the day tomorrow,be interesting to see how the debate goes.

See what I mean ??? (I'll set my "friends" on you !)

In future why dont you keep your nasty little commenst to yourself and just comment on the subject matter ? I've suggested before that you ignore my posts but you do not do you?

Wasn't that long ago Jk pulled you up for warping things on this board with your postings, think that about sums up your posting here too

Yes ITK in micro economic terms you're right....but you forgot to mention that those idiots who run the Euro let them.....

Sorry .... I didn't realise that someone forced people to spent up to the limit (and beyond) on their credit cards (and then apply for further credit cards so they could pay off the interest on the first one) !

My mistake !!!

The greek financial crisis has nothing to do with ordinary citizens, but the Greek government's ability to repay debt.
Again what planet are you on?
Wrong! Its due to the Governments ability to collect debt.

It's the same thing if u care to look...u can't pay if u can't collect.

yes Greek Government same same Brit Govt (under Labour and Tories)Oz and USA governments.

ie : Vodafone £6B..news Corp headquarted in ?? and pays a tiny fraction of tax on huge profits.

The tax avoided by corporations would pay for every NHS cut etc etc easily.

I'm always mystified by the ITKs of the world (although he may give a sensible response) who avoid this problem or come up with the lame excuse that the corporations will up stakes and take their trade elsewhere.

Like The Sun would disappear overnight if news Corp had to pay their fair share of taxes and so on.

But it worked in Oz recently when the mining corps screeched they'd bugger off if they were made pay more tax and the Oz ITKs all trembled at the thought the corps would flee and leave multi-billion dollar iron ore deposits sitting in the ground.

As if.

Same old ... same old ... veritas ! YAWN !

Why do you think London became the financial capital ?
Because it was a good deal for the Corps ... thats why !
Better some tax ... than no tax at all.

You chose the best option (for you) for your savings, dont you?
Why are you so mystified when others do the same?

They may not up sticks entirely - they will obviously leave the UN businesses alone, but the Corporate end of the business (where ALL the cash eventually ends up) would be on the next plane to Switzerland !!!

Your friend, Mr B-Liar, went to enormous lengths to encourage these businesses to locate their financial HQs to the UK.

But it worked in Oz recently when the mining corps screeched they'd bugger off if they were made pay more tax and the Oz ITKs all trembled at the thought the corps would flee and leave multi-billion dollar iron ore deposits sitting in the ground.

They are all at the estate agents now, veritas, chosing sunnier (and financially better) climes !

What happens when you cant pay your debts -

- New pay and promotion system covering all 700,000 civil servants
- Further cuts in public sector wages and many bonuses scrapped
- Some 30,000 public sector workers suspended, wages cut to 60% and face lay off after a year
- Wage bargaining suspended
- Monthly pensions above 1,000 euros to be cut 20% above that threshold
- Other cuts in pensions and lump-sum retirement pay
- Tax-free threshold lowered to 5,000 euros a year from 8,000

===

All of the above are proposals being voted on by the Greek government today.

What do the people do?
They go on strike - www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-15362678 - further damaging any prospect of a recovery !

Only in loony la-la land !!!

"One man has died after fighting erupted between rival anti-austerity protesters at a large rally outside the Greek parliament in Athens.

A number of people were hurt during ferocious running battles between rioters and trade union stewards". from - www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15377398

Obviously doing all they can to put the Country right !!!!

Seems Greece will default after all,in some form of course.
The biggest loonys here are the other euro countries. They will have to pay up,or risk their own economies going bankrupt.
We should be grateful we never got involved in the euro,I believe ITK's preferred party supported the idea

It's not the fault of the Greeks or the Euro.

It's the fault of the IMF, which encourages countries to get into debt so it can earn interest for its banker friends, and then screams 'austerity!' and 'default!' when it seems those same countries may not be able to meet their interest payments.

Dearest In The Know...

London became the financial capital of the world because Britain has been an absolute genius at looting the rest of the planet for centuries.

Just take this strange place Oz for instance..most of it is owned by Britain, Holland and the USA who got in early and stole most of it from the local indigenous people who..shock of all shocks..were natural socialists for the last 40,000 years (although they believed and still do that the earth is a living breathing thing that belongs to no-one)

Although China is now buying up vast tracts of it.

Can we just get one thing straight... because you keep making an assumption that I am somehow a fan of Tony Blair's.

I cannot stand the man and never have ( although I too was seduced at the very beginning that he was a genuine Labour man)... I think he is a war criminal..a liar who promised to reverse the Tory policy of selling off State assets , instead continuing the fraud on steroids but I do genuinely believe that he make very well be insane.

My worst insult about him is...he's a Tory!

I'm glad you have repented, veritas - but you have to take some of the blame for having "fallen" for him and got him elected in the first place !

Just because you have changed your spots you cannot get away with the damage that you have done LOL !

You're a committed Lib supporter, well by your own argument you would have wrecked our economy by supporting a party who supported us joining the euro. We'd be queing up to pay for the very loony lala brigade you're laughing about here.
Fortunately france and Germany etc will now have to do that.

On the whole though you're running a good argument, but you always come unstuck when you turn it personal.Let the existing facts speak for themselves, the point scoring has an annoying habit of backfiring.

I didn't vote for him. I voted Lib Dem.

Don't blame me for the creation of a Tory PM posing as a Labour Party PM.

The fault is all yours.
