Give Fox time to explain ... says Cameron 12 Years, 6 Months ago
So he can come-up with a plausible explanation ?

Why should that need time ?

Absolutely not ... ALL governments survive an odd sacking or two.

Have you seen the Opinion polls recently ?
An election now would return a resounding Tory victory.

The YouGov polls are showing a Labour lead of between 4 and 6 points at the moment.

ukpollingreport is a really good source of polling info isn't it, IA? It may be run by someone from YouGov but it also reports on findings from other polling organisations.

In any case, nowhere have I seen any evidence of a resounding Tory victory. It may be true that the Labour lead isn't huge, but it is still a Labour lead.

You said earlier in this thread

'An election now would return a resounding Tory victory.'

Where does cameron being more popular then milliband, but the Tories -4+ down indicate a tory victory?
Again a fool who knows nothing

People tell pollsters anything ... I often tell them the exact opposite of what I believe just to f-up their statistics !

When it comes down to it, Milliband is unelectable (and Labour are starting to realise it !).

I thought you were about facts ITK,you keep on shouting about proof to other posters, you even made a bold statement about opinion polls supporting a Tory victory....so where are these polls?
We all make mistakes, but digging a hole doesn't help, move on,there are more interesting topics waiting to explore

So Fox has finally gone. He's one of those politicians a party would prefer to be peeing out than peeing in.

True JK, but I think it's still right that he has gone.

Werrity has been travelling around with Fox extensively acting as if he were an official advisor. Indeed some foreign dignitaries have said they thought he was an official, and that is serious, because in that case they may well have divulged things to him that they would not otherwise have done. Therefore compromising confidentiality and potentiality national security.

The important question is: if Fix wanted Werrity on board, why did he not appoint him officially? The answer is obviously that he wouldn't have got past the vetting process as he has vested interests in the defence industry which is obviously a big no-no. So what did Fox do, just 'appoint' him anyway - that has to raise serious questions.

Werrity was going around with the House of Commons port cluis embossed on his 'business cards' when he is nothing to do with the government or parliament. This obviously misleads people into thinking he is an offical.

Fox had Werrity paid by vested interest groups. Having someone in the inner circles of a vital ministry who is paid exclusively by lobby groups is wrong.

At best bad judgement; at worst.... who knows?

It depresses me to think he is now free to build a right wing group within the Commons. He has foul ideas about most things, he's homophobic and misogynistic, and he's very ambitious. At least he was 'contained' whilst in Government. Now he's a damn menace.

Yes agreed David,we all know about what is expected of a minister, and he fell well below acceptable standards.

There seems to be a lot of interesting info leaking out about his dealings, can't say it's going to help him come back onboard anytime soon.

Indeed- this piece in the Guardian will make uncomfortable reading for all concerned.

Modern politicians are well aware of what is acceptable behaviour, and if like Fox you want to get to the top you do need to be aware of what makes 'acceptable standards'.
