Quite ghastly what's going on in Sirte 12 Years, 6 Months ago
Two opposing groups of supporters of two regimes (enough of this ludicrous condemnation of one over the other) indiscriminately killing and bombing and burning - and we, the British tax payer, are totally responsible.

On CCTV9 they were just picking through the toys and photos which used to be a civil residence in Sirte. The whole block was pounded to rubble by NATO air strikes. The excuse was that there have might have been a sniper in the block.

Wasn't the UN mandate all about protecting civilians from military bombardment?
I think we've now seen the last of the old colonial powers interfering abroad,we'll never get another UN mandate after this fiasco!

pretty well fading out of the spotlight now. People's attention spans are minute. Death and destruction all very well but they need a new drama every few weeks.

Kill supporters of the old regime! Burn their houses! Everything we predicted is happening; it was inevitable when we - NATO - decided to back one side against the other.
Meanwhile rebels are protesting in Rome, Washington, Greece, London... hey, next move - the rioters wanting change will start killing and setting fire to the regime supporters... burn the banks!
It is sheer, mindless insanity which we have brought upon ourselves.

For the last two days this is the 2nd main news from the Chinese news channel CCTV. It's more than sad that we (The British) are sending our air force to attack civilian targets, killing people in our name, but it barely gets a mention in the British media. The people of Sirte are clearly pro Gaddafi and do not want to be "liberated", so the British have no business being there.
Yet, despite the claims that there are now only a handful of pro Gaddafi fighters in the city, NATO continues to rage it's war.
