to point out that NATO (French bombers) actually killed Gaddafi, that the guy achieved a great deal as leader, that his death will be seen as that of a brave martyr within weeks, and that, ironically, his followers will soon become the IRA of North Africa?

John Simpson on the BBC says Gaddafi "refused to answer" certain questions - then shows a piece of the interview where, clearly, Gaddafi doesn't quite understand the question in a foreign language.

As I get older I become more and more despairing of our media. Set an agenda and twist the footage to fit the premise.

I don't think there's a more honorable reporter in this area than John, and I thought he was admirably critical of the manner of Gaddafi's demise. I'm also sure he asked Gaddafi questions in his native tongue, so what footage the BBC showed was misleading in this sense.
