and doubtless some poor moronic "rebel" - um "freedom fighter"... um "Tottenham rioter"... excuse me, I'm getting confused - will become a scapegoat and will get killed in return.

Where the actual murderer is Prime Minister David "Spoonface" Cameron.

I think you are wrong again, JK !

While I am very uncomfortable with summary execution and extra-judicial killings, I think, on the whole, and in this instance, it is the perfect outcome.

Most wars are fought by young men - the Libyan young men have never know anything but the tyranny of Gaddafi. Isnt it therefor quite understandable that "in the heat of battle" they should overstep the mark? This war is about Gaddafi - and nothing else. If the opportunity to remove the cause of the war comes along .... doesn't it bring the war to an end and prevent further suffering by eliminating him? (The USA always justified the murder of millions in Japan in 1945 by saying that dropping the nuclear bomb brought a swift end to the war and saved further lives).

I think it entirely appropriate that Gaddafi got the same ending that he meted out to others many many times (and would have continued to do so) ....

He was totally humiliated, hiding in a sewer pipe, and finally had to face his people - only this time they could stand up to him !!!

What I would be very uncomfortable with is Gaddafi dying of old age, in a nice centrally-heated cell, with TV and internet access at The Hague.

That would be a travesty. God moves in mysterious ways indeed.
