Banks scratching and PIN numbers 12 Years, 6 Months ago
Just got a new Debit card and under separate cover a PIN number; I had to scratch off silver (with my nails; hell of a mess) and the number was virtually indecipherable. It took me ages to work it out (and change it to a personally memorable complex one). I'm now exhausted and need instant cash in order to relax with a coffee! And my nails are part silver.

Why they just can't have a phone number to claim your pin is beyond me. But then we'd just get some automated monotone voice. I long for the day you dial a number and a human answers and says "Good morning sir, how can we help?" I even phoned my mother last week and a voice said 'you now have four choices'...a crossed line but I was most flabbergasted for a moment.

I've had that problem - it's an absurd way to send PIN numbers. (Almost as exasperating as those website anti-robot spam facilities where you have to type in some words - that's fair enough, but they then show words that appear to have been written by drunken spiders who've fallen in an ink well and are thus impossible to read. It usually takes me three goes to type in the right letters!)

Luckily it was quite early and the nearby Post Office was empty (I had to post off some tax returns); so I was able to peer and concentrate and eventually thought I could just about make out the numbers.
I agree about the Captcha thingy - hopefully ours are pretty easy.
