TOPIC: George Sanders

George Sanders 12 Years, 6 Months ago
Watching the delightful Ghost and Mrs Muir, I remembered how wonderful George Sanders was.

Probably best known by youngsters as Shere Khan in The Jungle Book film, he really was a superb, silky, slimy, magnificent actor. Surely the real star of Rebecca?

"Real happiness is worth almost any risk". Where are the script writers of that standard today?

He was a great character. Played The Saint in Hollywood movies. Wonderfully lugubrious in comedies.

Probably his greatest role was as theatre critic Adisson DeWitt in "All About Eve".

He is very good in The Rebel, Tony Hancock's first film, written by Galton and Simpson.
