Absolutely fascinating; thanks for linking us to it DJ.
This remains the Titanic story of our time; I'm just waiting for it to spread to the other guilty parties in the moral collapse of our time; police, lawyers, judges and, most of all, politicians.
Expenses? A storm in a teacup compared to what is to come.

You are putting FAR too much emphasis on this story JK (for your own reasons) - the majority of the public dont give a toss (and most of them cant have a toss either now that the NOTW has gone !!!).
Don't get me wrong; I agree with you ITK; public interest is small. But the importance of what is going on and the ramifications which may result could be enormous.

the vast general public are marooons (as Mae West called them) but we are witnessing a total sea change and the result is uncertain.
I predict The Sun will close as well. In the long run this doesn't matter that much to News Corp as pay TV etc are far more important. However once USA authorities start on News Corp it will be dismantled and entities like Fox News that carries so much power will vanish aided by the other US networks who are champing at the bit to monster them.
However the changes that will happen out of this are enormous and the maronic public are of no consequence. If it were left up to them we would still be living in the Dark Ages.
Wait until the avalanche of lawsuits begins. Wait until the avalanche of legal challenges begin over convictions. You haven't seen anything yet.

Agree with ITK but Jonathan is also right, as the public rarely cares about what is really important (until its too late).
