Having thankfully never had the experience of a Christmas behind bars, I wondered if JK or any of the good members here could give me some insight into what this period is like inside. I'm doing some research you see and writing a story in which my main character is sent to prison on Christmas Eve.
The only people who say prison is akin to a 'holiday camp' are those who've never seen the inside of one. The lack of privacy is one factor I could not stand, because I'm a natural loner, and the thought of sharing a shower etc' would fill me with complete horror.
Wait for The Sun to report how lags are being treated to luxurious Christmas treats with After Eight mints laid on their pillows at night....yawn.
The psychological impact of not being with family must be the hardest part to tolerate, one would have thought.
Any experiences, recollections would be much appreciated...thankyou.
